Predniftalmina, eye ointment, is indicated in the topical treatment of eye infections caused by chloramphenicol-sensitive micro-organisms, which require an associated corticosteroid agent for relief of the inflammation associated with eye infections. These infections include allergic conjunctivitis associated with chronic bacterial conjunctivitis; marginal keratitis secondary to a blepharoconjunctivitis and staphylococcal infection.

Predniftalmina is also indicated in selected cases of post-operative inflammation.
